OmniFocus isn't your manager

J. Eddie Smith, on OmniFocus:

OmniFocus is not a manager. It doesn't ship with a ball-busting boss that can threaten to make my life worse if I don't do things. And so using OmniFocus for self-management requires a lot of self-discipline.

This is the secret of OmniFocus I have yet to master. Which is terrible, really. On days when I look at OmniFocus, I get things done. The little counter at the bottom-right of my screen goes up and up, and I finish the day feeling happy. On days where I neglect to look at it (or worse, actively avoid it), I can get by...but most of the time I feel run-down at the end of the day.

I know this. I just need to learn it.
