Colophon

Technology

This blog is assembled from haml, markdown, css, and javascript using nanoc, and hosted on netlify. I’ve tried using other static site generator packages, but to be honest I know how nanoc works and how to get it to do what I want.

Design and Images

Background image is from subtle patterns, and everything else is (probably) made from scratch.

Blog design is an ongoing thing. Previous and current designs influenced by Derek Sivers, bsag, J Zhao, Robin Sloan, Spencer Chang, Mu-An Chiou.

Typo

Headings are in FiraGO by bBox Type, a multi-language evolution of the Fira Typeface from Mozilla. It is, coincidentally, the preferred typeface of the Government of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Body text is in Inter by Rasmus Andersson. Inter is an evolution of the Roboto family of fonts, developed by Google for their Android operating system.

Code and monospace is in Inconsolata by Raph Levian.

Metacolophon

This colophon is based heavily on Robin Sloan’s own colophon, which is both more extensive and more interesting than my own. We all need things to look up to in our lives.

For far more information than fits in here, see my site design notes.
